"What do we wear?!?"
I'm positive this is the most commonly asked question when I schedule a portrait session! I send out a welcome guide to all my clients to help answer this and other frequently asked questions!
My biggest tip is to coordinate but not match. You want to choose outfits that compliment each other. Long gone are the days that everyone wears all black or all white shirts in their portraits.
I suggest you start with one outfit and build out. Don't be afraid of patterns or textures either! You want to avoid putting everyone in a different pattern but a few patterned pieces are great.
Another thing you may want to consider is the colors in your home. Will one of these portraits be displayed prominently within your home? If so you may want to consider the main colors you already have in that living space.
Example:
Some things I suggest you avoid when picking clothing are logos, character t-shirts, shirts with writing, and neon colors. I also recommend that you not do anything outside of your normal right before pictures such as a major hair changes, trying spray tans for the first time, or wearing clothes you don't feel comfortable in. It will show in pictures if you're not comfortable and we don't want that.
