A Change of Plans, A Perfect Evening | McKinley Rose Garden Family Session

This session was originally planned for the iris farm, but as all parents know—life happens! This sweet family was hit with the flu bug just days before their session and needed a couple of weeks to fully recover. Thankfully, we were able to pivot and landed on a backup location that turned out to be just as magical: the McKinley Rose Garden.

The roses were in full bloom and the golden light was giving us everything. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a prettier evening. Between the gorgeous colors, the soft filtered light, and the sweetest siblings, this gallery came together like a dream.

We kept things relaxed, letting everyone settle in naturally. The kids were so sweet with each other, and their connection made my job easy. I love when families just be together—there's always a kind of quiet magic that shows up in the images.

If you’ve never been to the McKinley Rose Garden, add it to your list! It’s one of Sacramento’s hidden gems for spring and early summer sessions. I’m so glad this family trusted me to help them pivot and still capture this beautiful season of life.
