Capturing Precious Moments: Joyce's Family Session at the Iris Farm

This past fall, I had the privilege of photographing Joyce and her beautiful family at the iris farm near Sacramento. Even though fall colors arrived a bit late this year, the session was nothing short of magical. The soft golden light filtering through the trees and the vibrant hints of autumn in the background created the perfect setting to capture their love and connection.

Family sessions hold such a special place in my heart. They’re not just about taking pictures; they’re about preserving memories—the moments we want to hold on to as our kids grow up and time seems to slip by faster than we’d like. Watching Joyce’s daughter twirl in her adorable maroon dress and seeing the way they all laughed and embraced reminded me why I love what I do. These little slices of joy and togetherness are what make family photography so important.

The iris farm, with its serene pathways and peaceful atmosphere, was the ideal location for this session. Joyce’s family coordinated so beautifully in deep, rich tones that complemented the surroundings perfectly. As we strolled through the grounds, we captured everything from playful twirls to quiet, tender moments.

One of my favorite parts of the session was the way Joyce and her husband’s love for each other shone through in every photo. Their connection was so genuine and heartwarming, and it was a joy to see how much their daughter clearly adored them both.
