Golden Hour Wildflower Family Session in Roseville | Sacramento Family Photographer

There is just something magical about wildflower season in Roseville, especially when you pair it with golden evening light and a sweet little two year old full of personality.

This family session was photographed in the open wildflower fields during one of those perfect spring evenings where everything seemed to glow. The light was absolutely gorgeous, the fields were soft and dreamy, and this little girl completely stole the show.

One thing I always remind parents before toddler sessions is that two year olds are usually done with photos pretty quickly, and that’s completely normal. Sessions at this age are never about forcing smiles or expecting little ones to sit perfectly posed. Instead, we keep things relaxed and playful while following their lead the entire time.

I always try to prioritize the most important family images right at the beginning of the session while attention spans are still fresh. After that, we move into a more natural, go-with-the-flow approach. We play, explore, cuddle, walk through the fields, and simply encourage connection between parents and their little ones.

Some of my favorite moments from this session were the quiet in-between interactions. The snuggles with mom, the little walks holding hands with dad, and the sweet giggles while playing in the wildflowers. Those are the moments that usually end up meaning the most years later.

I also photographed this family when their daughter was around one year old, so getting to see how much she has grown already was so special. Watching families return year after year and documenting these milestones as their babies grow up truly never gets old for me.
