In-Home Newborn Session | Sacramento Newborn Photographer

There is something so special about getting to photograph families over and over again through all of life’s biggest milestones. I’ve now photographed this sweet family five different times, and honestly, watching their family grow has been such an honor.

This cozy in-home newborn session was filled with the softest neutral tones, sleepy newborn snuggles, and the sweetest little details. Their newest baby girl was absolutely amazing for her session, and I still cannot get over those tiny toes and sleepy expressions.

One of my favorite parts of this session was watching big sister interact with her new baby sibling. She is still such a little one herself, which always makes sibling photos extra unpredictable and adorable at the same time. But she did so incredibly well and brought so much sweetness to the session.

That’s one thing I always remind parents before newborn sessions with toddlers. We never force anything. Young siblings usually need breaks, cuddles, snacks, and a little freedom to just be themselves. Some of the sweetest moments happen naturally in between poses anyway.

For this session, we kept everything simple and timeless with soft wraps, neutral textures, delicate headbands, and natural light throughout the home. I always want newborn sessions to feel calm, relaxed, and focused on your baby rather than overly complicated setups.

One of the biggest reasons I love in-home newborn photography is because families are able to stay comfortable in their own space while documenting this season exactly as it feels right now. There’s something so meaningful about creating images in the home where your baby’s first memories are being made.

It truly makes me so happy when families continue returning to me through pregnancy announcements, newborn sessions, milestone portraits, and family photos over the years. Being trusted to document these moments again and again never stops feeling special.
