Peak Fall Family Photography at the Iris Farm in Loomis

It had been quite a few years since I last photographed this sweet family, which made this session even more meaningful. This was my first time photographing them as a family of four, and it felt like such a full circle moment.

From the start, everything about this session felt easy and natural. The kids were adorable together, full of curiosity and energy, and completely comfortable being themselves. There was no pressure to be perfect, no stress about posing, and no expectations beyond simply showing up and enjoying time together. That is exactly how family sessions should feel.

They also brought along a very unique pet, which I absolutely loved. I am always here for families who want to make their sessions personal and a little different. Including something meaningful to your family, whether it is a pet, a tradition, or a favorite activity, makes your photos feel even more like you.

We met at the Iris Farm in Loomis during peak fall, and it could not have been more beautiful. The golden leaves, soft light, and natural textures created the perfect backdrop. Their outfits blended so well with the environment and added to the warm, timeless feel of the session without feeling forced or overly styled.

What stood out most about this session was how relaxed everyone was. The focus was not on getting children to behave perfectly or smile on command. Instead, it was about documenting this season of life exactly as it is. The love, the laughter, the quiet moments, and the connection between siblings and parents.

These are the kinds of sessions that age beautifully. They tell a story. Not just of how your family looks, but of who you are together.

The Iris Farm continues to be one of my favorite locations for fall family photography, and sessions like this are a big reason why.
