Soft Neutrals and Sweet Dreams: Newborn Session by Sacramento Photographer

This recent newborn session was a dream! We scheduled it for a weekday morning, as I typically do, starting around 9-10 AM. The lighting in the studio was perfect for capturing those sweet and peaceful moments.

This little guy was the sleepiest newborn I’ve ever had in front of my camera! He didn’t make a peep until the very end of the session when we were wrapping up family photos. I was able to get some of my favorite shots—the delicate lashes, tiny toes, and gentle hands—while he snoozed away. His adorable round cheeks and calm demeanor were such a joy to photograph.

For this session, I leaned into soft neutrals. His mama loves classic, timeless looks, so we stuck with a mix of whites and creams for the entire shoot, keeping everything simple and clean. Neutrals are a staple in my newborn sessions because they allow the baby to be the focus, while also creating a warm and inviting feel.

I can’t wait for the family to look back on these photos and remember how tiny and sweet he was during these first few weeks of life.
