A Beautiful One Year Session in Rocklin | Sacramento Family Photographer

It feels like just yesterday I was photographing this mama’s maternity session, followed by their newborn session. Time moves so quickly, and here we are already celebrating one whole year with their sweet girl. What a joy it has been to capture each milestone for this family.

For this one year session, we met at a charming location in Rocklin that has quickly become one of my favorites. Between the quaint little rose garden, the orchard with rows of trees, and the adorable white church nestled nearby, there is so much variety in one spot. It gave us the perfect mix of cozy and timeless backdrops to work with.

I especially loved that mom and dad joined in for the portraits. Including parents at milestone sessions is such a wonderful way to document the love and connection that grows even deeper through this first year. Their daughter will one day look back on these photos and see how adored she was, not just how sweet and tiny she looked at one.

Their sweet girl wore a mauve velvet dress from my client closet, and it was the perfect choice. It photographed beautifully among the roses and the orchard’s golden light, bringing a soft, elegant touch to the session.

This family is such a joy to work with, kind, warm, and so clearly wrapped up in love for one another. Watching them grow over this past year has been an honor, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for them.
