A Storybook Evening at the Lavender Farm in Lincoln CA
There are some sessions that just feel like they were pulled straight out of a storybook… and this was one of them.
We met at the lavender farm in Lincoln on a warm evening, with the most beautiful golden light filtering through the trees. From the very beginning, this session felt soft, romantic, and full of intention.
Mom had such a clear vision for her maternity session, and I loved bringing it to life with her.
One of my favorite moments was capturing her peeking through the doors, almost like stepping into a new chapter. It felt symbolic in the sweetest way… this quiet anticipation before everything changes.
And then there was the dock.
Watching her husband photograph her with a vintage film camera was one of those moments you can’t plan, but it ends up being everything. It was so natural, so personal, and honestly just perfect. Those are the moments I’m always looking for… the ones that feel real and meaningful.
The entire session had this gentle, storytelling feel to it. Nothing rushed. Nothing forced. Just the two of them soaking in this season together.
That’s always my goal with maternity sessions. Not just to document what this season looks like, but what it feels like.
The lavender farm is such a beautiful location for that. Between the open fields, tree-lined paths, and little tucked-away spots, it offers so much variety while still feeling calm and intimate.
