Celebrating One Year | A Citrus Heights Family Photography Session

Wrapping up a baby package session is always bittersweet, and this one was no exception.

From the very beginning, this little guy has been wide awake, curious, and full of personality. During his newborn session, he spent the entire time taking everything in, alert and expressive, and that energy followed him right into his one year session. His facial expressions are the cutest, and every moment felt genuine and full of life.

It has been such an honor documenting this family from maternity, to their newborn session, and now their one year milestone. Being trusted with these memories through such a meaningful season of life is something I never take lightly. His parents are truly the sweetest, and I am so grateful they chose me to capture their growing family.

This session took place at a nature reserve in Citrus Heights, one of my longtime favorite locations. The bridge, open paths, and natural surroundings create such a timeless setting for family photography. It used to be one of my most requested locations, and sessions like this are a reminder of why it remains so special.

What I loved most about this session was how relaxed it felt. There was no pressure to make everything perfect. We simply followed his lead, letting him explore, move, and show off his personality. Those are the moments that tell the real story of who your child is at this stage.

Baby package sessions create a beautiful timeline of your baby’s first year, from bump to newborn to those busy, expressive toddler days. While this marks the end of their baby package, I truly hope it is not the last time we work together.
