Photographing a family for the second time during another pregnancy is always incredibly special. This maternity session was my second time working with this beautiful family, and my first time meeting their son, which made the evening even more meaningful.
From the moment we started, everything felt easy and natural. Their son brought such a sweet energy to the session, and the moments between him and his parents felt especially nostalgic. Watching him explore, cuddle close, and interact with his mama’s growing bump was a quiet reminder of how quickly these seasons pass.
We were truly blessed with the most beautiful sunset and golden light during their maternity session at the Lavender Farm in Lincoln. The soft glow, open space, and gentle movement of the trees created the perfect backdrop. I could not have asked for a better night.
She brought one of her own dresses, which worked beautifully for part of the session, and also chose a gown from my client closet. The dark navy dress featured in this session is part of my client wardrobe and is available for use at no additional cost during sessions with me. These dresses are not available for rent or use outside of sessions, but they are always an option for clients who want something timeless and flattering without the added stress.
What stood out most during this session was the sense of anticipation. The quiet moments, the laughter, and the way this family moved together made it clear how loved this baby already is. I am so excited to meet their newest addition and continue documenting their story.
Sessions like this are a reminder of why maternity photography matters. It is not just about the bump, but about the family you already have and the memories being made before everything changes.
