A Sweet One Year Session at the Botanical Garden | Sacramento Baby Photographer

There are some families that just stay with you, and this is absolutely one of them. I’ve now photographed two maternity sessions, two newborn sessions, and now two one year milestones for this sweet family… and every time I see them it feels like catching up with friends. 🤍

Watching their girls grow has been the biggest honor. Truly. From tiny newborn snuggles to busy little toddlers exploring the world, it’s one of my favorite parts of what I do as a Sacramento baby photographer.

For this session, we met at one of the prettiest botanical gardens here in Sacramento, and it did not disappoint. The blooms showed up for us in the best way. Soft colors, petals scattered along the ground, and so many dreamy little spots to stop and let the girls just be themselves.

And that’s exactly what we did.

We walked, we explored, we let them play. There was no rush, just space for them to giggle, pick flowers, hold hands, and soak it all in. The kind of session that feels easy and full of real moments instead of anything forced.

The girls were so sweet together. The way they interacted, the little looks, the laughter… it’s those in between moments that always end up being my favorites.

We also had so much variety without ever needing to overthink it. A few different looks, different little pockets of the garden, and suddenly we had a gallery full of images that all feel a little different but still beautifully cohesive.

And of course, we made time for family photos too. Those are always so important, especially at this stage. One year sessions aren’t just about baby, they’re about everything you’ve built together in that first year. The growth, the love, the chaos, all of it.

I say this all the time, but it really means everything when families come back to me again and again. Being trusted to document these milestones is something I never take lightly.
