Family Session At Gibson Ranch | Sacramento Family Photographer
It's always a little nerve-racking to photograph another talented photographer even if you feel like you know them. And this mama is so talented! Of course by the time we got started it was like any other session but the nerves definitely got to me.
We decided to have her session at Gibson Ranch in Sacramento. It is one of my all time favorite spots to use. I actually grew up going to this gorgeous park and after 8 years in business it's still one of my absolute favorites photography locations.
Laticia sent me a bunch of outfits options and we both loved this beautiful blue and cream palette. The girls wore matching dresses from Joyfolie and mama wore a stunning sky blue dress from Vici.
During family sessions I like to get many combinations. I usually ask if there are any specific combinations you want as well. I always try to make little ones feel comfortable and I never like to force or rush them to take images. Don't get me wrong I'm not against a little bribery but I never want to force them. So when mama told me her little guy wasn't big on pictures I didn't push.
Her sweet boy was down for lots of mommy snuggles and I always love capturing those. By the end of the session he sat down right in front of me and let me grab a picture. I even got lots of smiles from him during the session! Laticia's girls on the other hand were made to be in front of the camera and soaked it up. They were also the sweetest and most polite girls and seriously so fun to work with.
We started the session in the row of trees that I love so much and slowly made out way to the docks. If you've spent any time looking through my social media you might be familiar with my dock pictures. They're pure magic and I can't get enough of them. My goal this year it to get one of my own family on this beautiful dock.
I got a message from Laticia at the end of the night that said "I just have to tell you my husband said he would do pictures with you again! He NEVER says that!" I don't think it's possible to get a better compliment than that!
